![]() Board Of Directors & Officers: ![]() ![]() Charlie Evans Jr. - President At age nine, Charles Evans Jr.'s first film work was clearing 16mm trim bins (reconstituting picture and sound scraps) for his mother, documentarian Frances Evans, while she edited. Evans earned his undergraduate degree at UC-Berkley with a major in "Short Story Writing." His thesis, a collection of short stories, won the University's Eisner Prize For Literature. Evans went on to complete the production program at University of Southern California's film school. He wrote, produced and directed his thesis, Second Son. Shot in 35mm, the film went on to win twelve awards including the Grand Prix at Clermont-Ferrand's competition. Evans worked for two years at Touchstone Pictures as Director of Development for Randall Kleiser Productions before founding Acappella Pictures in March, 1993. Evans' first project was Nerve, a documentary for Touchstone Pictures about aspiring stand-up comedians. He then produced Johnny Depp's directorial debut, The Brave, based on the novel by Gregory McDonald. Johnny and Marlon Brando starred. The production was an official selection for competition in the 1997 Cannes International Film Festival. Evans' enduring commitment to produce a film on the life of Howard Hughes resulted in "The Aviator" (2004, BAFTA, Golden Globes). Evans' current production is a documentary he directed, "Addiction, Incorporated" currently in limited release across the country. At 5'1, Lil' Cesar is one of the biggest and most influential names in Hip Hop. Born in war torn El Salvador, Lil Cesar escaped to the inner city streets of Los Angeles, where he discovered the dance form that would change the direction of his life. Lil' Cesar has performed on stages all over the world including Buckingham Palace for the Queen's Golden Jubilee Concert in England in 2002. He has traveled extensively across the United States and over 37 countries in Europe, Asia, and Australia, performing alongside artists such as Paul McCartney, Phil Collins, Ricky Martin, Doris Roberts, Ray Romano and Jason Alexander. He has appeared in many TV shows, documentaries, films and books. His image has graced newspaper covers, magazine covers, and commercials including The Gap, Honda, the Iowa and California State Lottery. Lil' Cesar has choreographed, coordinated, and danced in videos for Janet Jackson, R.E.M, Run DMC vs. Jason Nevans, and Fat Boy Slim. He has performed live with Madonna, Kurtis Blow, Ice T, Exhibit, Melle Mel, Lenny Kravitz, Soul Train and Britney Spears, as well as appearing on the Tonight show with Jay Leno. In 2007, the city of Seoul, Korea gave Lil' Cesar a Hall of Fame award naming him a "Living Legend" in recognition of his "unrelenting dedication" and his "gift of inspiration to the global Hip Hop youth community." On Human Rights Day in 2003, the Youth for Human Rights International gave Lil' Cesar an award for "Dedication to Peace and Human Rights" in accord with the "United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights." In 2000, he received the "Innovator Award" for lifetime achievement in Hip Hop dance at the Hip Hop Dance Awards. In 1997, Lil' Cesar received an award for his "Outstanding Hip Hop Skill" from "The Wake-Up Show" on 92.3 "The Beat" in Los Angeles. For the past five years she has built a strong career in the area of financial planning. Mrs. Umana has helped her husband build their business. She has worked for six years as an Administrative Assistant for a non-profit organization. Mrs. Umana dedicates a lot of time to various community-based volunteer events and projects as well as her family. She is currently working in her Bachelor Degree in Business Administration and a certificate in Human Resources. ![]() Richard E Shephard - Treasurer Richard Shephard is owner of Shephard & Associates, Certified Public Accountants, which firm provides business management services to clients in the entertainment industry. Mr. Shephard attended Stanford University (BS1975) and UCLA Anderson Graduate School of Management (Masters in Business Administration degree 1977). He is board treasurer for The Vintage Hollywood Foundation, a California non-profit corporation which raises funds for local charities through an annual food and wine event. He is also the board treasurer for The Children's Circle, a California non-profit corporation which has provided family support and residential services to Los Angeles area medically fragile foster youth. He has been licensed as a Certified Public Accountant in California since 1979, and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the California Society of Certified Public Accountants. | |
